This kit comes with everything needed to test the purity of methanol. It includes a calibrated
methanol hydrometer, an armored thermometer with graduations in 1 degree increments from 25° F to 125°. F with labels every 10 degrees,
a 500 mL glass hydrometer cylinder and complete testing instructions.
As methanol sits for extended periods of time, it can absorb moisture from the air
and become contaminated with water. Too much water can cause problems with reactions creating underreacted Biodiesel.
If you've had a barrel of methanol sitting around for a while or if you're recovering methanol
this kit can help you ensure your methanol is pure enough to use to produce Biodiesel.

In testing, we found using the 500 mL glass hydrometer cylinder to be extremely stable and simple to take readings through.

Want to have it all? Then this one's for you! In addition to the 500 mL Glass Hydrometer Cylinder
and the Armored Thermometer upgrades, we've added a stand to conduct the methanol tests with and
an optional protective carrying case. With a metal base, a 20" supporting rod, and a heavy duty clamp,
you'll be able to conduct methanol purity tests like a pro!
The heavy duty metal stand is 8.5" long by 5.25" wide and stands 1.25" high.
The included clamp is fully adjustable with a clamping grip of up to 2.5".
The length of the clamp can also be adjusted to ensure it has just the right reach. The clamp can be swiveled
360° to hold things at any angle and can be attached to the rod at any point, which means it's extremely versatile for
other uses as well such as titrating oil, performing soap tests, or even measuring pH with a portable pH meter.
As with our other methanol test kit, our ultimate kit also comes with the same, accurate hydrometer and with a full set of
instructions for how to perform purity tests on methanol with great precision.
